If you've always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wonderous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases and we keep class sizes to a maximum of 6 students:
If you've participated in a Discover Scuba Diving experience or resort course, the skills you learned may be credited towards a portion of the full PADI Open Water Diver course certification.
PADI offers an Open Water eLearning course via the internet. You can expect it to take about 14 to 15 hours and you will want to do a little at a time. If needed, we offer a variety of home-study materials (book and DVD package or a multimedia DVD) instead of the eLearning.
We understand that you might prefer to register online, however we feel it is in your best interest if you call us at 972-416-8400 to get started. There are a lot of details to getting certified and we want to make sure you choose the best way for you.
PADI's Open Water Diver materials cover what you need to know about basic scuba diving skills, terminology and safety procedures. For each concept you'll read a description and watch a video demonstration. Then, you'll jump in our heated pool to practice these skills with your instructor.
In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear including a dive computer and standard accessories. The equipment you wear will be chosen by our qualified staff to ensure your comfort throughout the course. We suggest purchasing your Personal Scuba Gear of Mask, Snorkel, Fins and Boots at an approximate investment of $325 at least a week before your first class to assure fit and if you want to special order.
The investment for Open Water certification is $475 for instructor fee and materials, eLearning, 5 confined water dives and 4 checkout dives.
In all three cases, you will go the following weekend to Terrell, TX for your checkout dives.
Everyone is busy and sometimes schedules just don't work with our regular class schedules. We offer private instruction at an additional investment of $200. This is an option if you are in a rush to get certified or want to schedule a private class for you and/or your entire family.
Concierge Service is where we come to you. We bring the mask, snorkle, boots and fins to your home and offer lessons in your pool with a private PADI Instructor. Call 972.416.8400 for unique options and pricing to fit your needs.
