The fun part about this course is...well, just about all of it because learning to dive is incredible. You breathe underwater for the first time (something you'll never forget) and learn what you need to know to become a certified diver. During the course, you'll have online learning modules, make at least five pool dives with your certified instructor and four check out dives at our local dive site under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. You also have the option to do your check out dives at a destination location, if you prefer to travel to blue water, we can find you a reputable dive shop.
In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear including a dive computer and standard accessories. The equipment you wear will be chosen by our qualified staff to ensure your comfort throughout the course.
PADI offers an Open Water eLearning course via the internet. You can expect it to take about 14 to 15 hours and you will want to do a little at at ime. If needed, we offer a variety of home-study materials (book and DVD package or a multimedia DVD) instead of the eLearning.
We understand that you might prefer to register online, however we feel it is in your best interest if you call us at 972-416-8400 to get started. There are a lot of details to getting certified and we want to make sure you choose the best way for you.
PADI's Open Water Diver materials cover what you need to know about basic scuba diving skills, terminology and safety procedures. For each concept you'll read a description and watch a video demonstration. Then, you'll jump in our heated pool to practice these skills with your instructor.
