My favorite dive destination is Coco’s Island.  Coco’s is 350 miles west of Costa Rica and it is a UNESCO world heritage site.  The Costa Rican government goes to extreme measures to enforce the international no-fishing ban and as a result, the sheer volume of life in the water at Coco’s is simply amazing.  I recommend everyone put this destination on their bucket list.

I really love teaching Rescue.  It gives me the ability to enhance dive skills and improve situational awareness for all students regardless of their diving background or interests.  I got serious about Rescue training when I picked up my camera as I knew I was a terrible buddy.

I started diving in 1990 when I lived in Houston.  My best friend and I fished offshore and decided we wanted to spearfish around the oil rigs.  We did that for several years then sold the boat.  I became a vacation diver at that point and my love of underwater photography took off when my wife gave me a Sealife DC600 camera for Christmas one year.  I’ve gone through 4 different cameras over the years and today I use a Canon R5 in a Nauticam housing and Inon strobes.

I recently retired after 42 great years with Kroger.  Today I am extremely busy with dive training and babysitting my grandsons.  Today, life is oh, so very good!
