Kevin Murphy

Course Director

I was certified in 1980 as a NAUI Sport Diver and continued my diving education by taking NAUI specialty and advanced courses while diving around Texas.

I attended and graduated from The Ocean Corporation in 1982 as a Commercial Diver and had the opportunity to work in the Gulf of Mexico as a tender/diver.  I moved to Hawaii and dove around the Hawaiian Islands while living on Oahu for three years.

I worked as a Public Safety Diver for the Garland Police Department and since 1988 I have worked in some form of public safety diving from actually diving to instructing dive teams.  I was certified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor in 1998. I taught as a private instructor until 2005 at which time International Scuba became my new home. IDC Staff Instructor was soon completed. I then began assisting with Instructor Development Courses and teaching all levels of PADI courses.

I have continued my own training by taking technical dive courses and instructor courses. I became a Master Scuba Instructor in 2009 and went on to become a PADI Course Director in 2011.

I enjoy learning about diving and in turn, educating people about diving. I continue to take courses
to further my knowledge and am an avid recreational and technical diver.

After 33 years in law enforcement, I retired in 2018 to work in the dive industry and travel every chance I get.
I am able to instruct PADI recreational courses, instructor courses, recreational and instructor
specialty courses and PADI technical courses

I look forward to assisting you in your diving journey.
